U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D) has re-introduced her plan to return jobs that had been sent abroad back to the United States.
The “Bring Jobs Home Act” would eliminate tax breaks and loopholes for companies offshore jobs and offer incentives to companies bringing them back to the U.S., and reward those moving jobs back. The act had been introduced three times before, but Republicans in the Senate blocked it with a filibuster each time.
“I’m hopeful now that the new president will turn to his own party and say this is something I want to do so that we can actually get it done,” Stabenow said to Michigan Radio.
Well … we’ll see.
