Nothing’s confirmed yet, but according to a recent story out of the Holland Sentinel, Congressman Fred Upton (R-MI6) may be gearing up to take on U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow in the 2018 election.
According to the story:
Rumors are being whispered around Washington, D.C., that longtime Congressman Fred Upton, R-St. Joseph, is mulling over a Senate challenge to three-term Democratic U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Lansing.
The possibility of an Upton-Stabenow 2018 showdown was first reported by Lansing-based Michigan Information and Research Service on Friday, Jan. 27.
Upton spokesperson Tom Wilbur says not to dig in too deep to those rumblings, at least right now.
